Food Allergies and Intolerance


Food allergies occur when your body's immune system reacts to substance in a food, usually that is protein, your body sees as harmful. A food intolerance is differ that the body is not able to digest a certain component of a food, such as lactose.

Types of Food allergies and intolerance:

there are more than 170 foods that cause allergies; however, 8 counts for 90% of food-allergic reactions: Milk, Egg, Peanuts, Tree nuts ( walnuts, cashews), Fish, Shellfish (shrimp, lobster, crab), Soy, and wheat.

Peanut allergy can be a life-threating, there is no treatment found, and it is present for unknown reasons yet. The good new is that National Institute of Allergy and Infection Diseases has established a new guideline state that parent of babies with highest risk of developing a peanut allergy, should introduce peanut products such powder and paste to their child as early as 4 to 6 months- old. However, introducing peanut products should be administrated under pediatrician supervision for prevention any of life- threatening situation.
