Caffeine the natural stimulant found in leaves and seeds of the plants, scientists believe it is evolved to protect the plants from predators. Caffeine is strongly associated with coffee. As result, it gains its popularity with as natural stimulant. Many people enjoy drinking coffee to start their morning or as afternoon quick pick up, However, despite the its benefits, coffee drinkers are different in their caffeine tolerance as well as the coffee differs in its caffeine content based on the roasting and brewing techniques.

How Much Caffeine in A cup of Coffee?

An (8oz) cup has a 95 mg with a range of 75- 165mg, and a 2mg in a (8oz) decaf coffee cup.

Coffee drinkers respond the caffeine differently, so drinkers should pay attention to how their body respond and base their consumption accordingly. Factors effect on the caffeine intolerance, start from hereditary to body weight, age, gender, and metabolism. In fact, genetically, people divide into two groups when it comes to caffeine metabolism; "fast caffeine metabolizers" versus slow ones.

#1 Coffee magnifies the stress response

Coffee triggers the "Hyperadrenalisim"- caffeine causes adrenal glands to over-react to stressful events increasing the secretion of hormones. Increase the secretion of stress hormones

So, Stress is the real cause, and can be avoided by practicing techniques to reduce the episodes of stress.

#2 Milk and Sugar in coffee drinks cause acne

Coffee drinks usually contain milk and sugar. there is abundance of a hormone called IGF-1 in milk which is a growth hormone. IGF-1 found in cows milk mainly that is why it is favorable for children but not you. Instead IGF-1 hormone speed up the growth of the acne. Additionally, high level of sugar content in coffee drinks boosts inflammation, redness, swelling of the acne making the skin produce more oil and damaging the skin.

Roasting Can Make A Big Difference


Roasting brings out the aroma and flavors inside the coffee bean. It causes a rapid chemical changes to the beans as they are exposed to high temperatures.

Many consumers believe that the strong, dark, rich-flavor roast indicates a higher level of caffeine, whereas the truth is the opposite. the slight roast has a more caffeine content. Roasts generally fall into one of 4 categories_ light, medium, medium-dark, and dark.
