My Weight is Stable After Dieting?!


Following a diet to lose weight, and you succeed, but couple of weeks more your weight is stable!!

After dieting, the body will adopt to the new norms. Reduction in calories force the body to find more ways to preserve energy in order for surviving. The only way and most effective is by reducing the rate of metabolism. The basic rate is slowed down as well as thermic effect of food. At this level, the body works against losing fats and weight.

These changes explains also, why people tend to feel less active and less motivated than they start dieting.

This stage of dieting is essential to focus on building muscles and improving physics.

How to improve metabolism as well as building muscles?

  • Eat more protein: Protein has the most effect on the thermic effect of food compared to the carbohydrates and fats ranges between 15- 30% of total effect.

  • Get enough of sleep: There are some hormone related to food digestion are affected by the lack of sleep such Insulin and the hunger hormone (Ghrelin). Insulin resistance is developed and as well as secretion of ghrelin hormone increases.

  • Do more of lifting or resistance exercises: Muscles are more metabolically active that fats, and by doing resistance exercising, muscles are torn up providing chances for building more resulting in higher metabolism.
